2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the first International Silver Jewelry Symposium in Jablonec \u201868. In collaboration with Die Neue Sammlung from Munich, the Br\u00f6han Museum dedicates an exhibition to this unique moment in the history of studio jewelry and for the first time since 1968 will display works that were created at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Due \nto the Prague Spring of 1968, jewelry artists from Eastern and Western \nEurope alike were able to follow the invitation of the Czechoslovakian \nArtists\u2019 Association to come together in the North-Bohemian city of \nJablonec nad Nisou for the first summit of European jewelry artists; \nartists that today are celebrated as the originators of author jewelry. \nIn the course of the four-week symposium, they created exceptional and \nvisionary works out of silver, glass, slate, and semi-precious stones. \nHalf a century after Jablonec \u201968, seventy pieces of jewelry will be \ndisplayed that the Muzeum skla a bi\u017euterie (Museum for glass and \njewelry) in Jablonec nad Nisou has preserved until today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJablonec 68 –\u00a0The East-West-Jewelry-Summit\u201d is part of the double exhibition \u201c2 x 1968\u201d conceived by the Br\u00f6han Museum to reflect upon the impact of the \u201968 movement on design after 50 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
