Museum is closed until further notice. We carry on online!until further notice
Due to the lockdown, the Bröhan-Museum will unfortunately have to remain closed until further notice.
We carry on online, however: for the exhibition “Luigi Colani and Art Nouveau” we created the “Colani Favorites”, a digital programme in which two young art historians introduce the highlights of the show in circa 1-minute long videos. New episodes will be published in German and English each week on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok). We also show on our Youtube channel how to make jewelry under the motto “Art Nouveau meets Colani” – every Advent weekend a new video is uploaded.
Furthermore, we produced “The Story” for our exhibition “The proletarian View – Worker Photography of the 1920s by Kurt Pfannschmidt, Ernst Thormann and Richard Woike”. In approximately 5-minute long videos collector Peter Badel, who has generously lent the objects on view, sheds light on the historic background of working-class photography. He also presents individual photographers and provides intriguing insights into contemporary camera technics. Although the videos are in German, English subtitles will be added to make the material available to an international audience. The six videos constituting the series will be published on our Youtube channel on a weekly basis.
Thanks to the new digital guide you can also visit our exhibitions online. The free guide provides interesting background information, extensive visual material as well as video- and audio recordings. Using a smartphone, tablet, or a computer, information about the exhibitions and the objects on display can be called up quickly and easily on the digital guide.
Highlights of our permanent exhibition on Jugendstil and Art Deco can be in turn explored through the Bröhan Museum´s new Google Arts & Culture account.
